Artificial intelligence is a scientific and technological discipline that seeks to create systems capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as reasoning, learning, perception, communication, creativity or problem solving. Artificial intelligence is based on the study of natural intelligence, that is, the way in which living beings process information and adapt to their environment.
Collective intelligence, for its part, is the ability of a group of individuals or entities to act in a coordinated and efficient manner to achieve a common objective, taking advantage of the diversity, complementarity and synergy of their knowledge, skills and resources. Collective intelligence can manifest itself both in natural systems, such as ant colonies, flocks of birds or swarms of bees, and in artificial systems, such as social networks, multi-agent systems or distributed systems.
Collective artificial intelligence is the combination of artificial intelligence and collective intelligence, that is, the creation of systems composed of multiple intelligent agents that interact and cooperate with each other to solve complex problems that exceed the individual capabilities of each agent. Collective AI can take various forms, such as distributed AI, hybrid AI, participatory AI, or extended AI.
