Wie wird Christus heute gepredigt? In welcher Vielfalt wird seine Gegenwart erlebt? Wie wirken Wort, Tat und Ton, die von ihm zeugen, auf- und miteinander? Anlässlich der Emeritierung des Heidelberger Neutestamentlers und Praktischen Theologen Helmut Schwier legt der Band interdisziplinäre Zugänge zu diesen Fragen und damit einem zentralen Proprium christlicher Theologie vor. Wissenschaftler:innen aus Deutschland, Südafrika und den USA nähern sich diesem Thema aus homiletischer, liturgischer, musikwissenschaftlicher, exegetischer, queer-theologischer, religionspädagogischer, diakoniewissenschaftlicher, poimenischer, systematisch-theologischer sowie hochschulpolitischer Perspektive.

On the occasion of the retirement of the Heidelberg New Testament scholar and professor of practical theology Helmut Schwier, this volume presents interdisciplinary approaches to these questions and thus to a central proprium of Christian theology.
Scholars from Germany, South Africa, and the USA approach this topic from the perspectives of homiletics, liturgy, musicology, exegesis, queer theology, religious education, diaconal studies, poimenics, systematic theology, and higher education policy. They show that the question of how to speak about Jesus Christ is an important part of Christian preaching (theory) that goes far beyond the worship service.
The articles in this volume explore the implications of this for the church, society, and preaching itself.
