Christmas Redemption

For Savannah, the holidays mean one thing, the Santa rally in the stock market. Beyond that, they're nothing more than an excuse to lounge about in her bath sipping bourbon, and plotting her next moves for the company. Raised in the corporate environment, her heart has grown cold to humanity and that's just the way her previous bosses liked it. Over the years she's sacrificed much of her humanity to move on, to earn the grades she needed to graduate, to stand out from the other interns, and to curry favor with her bosses just so that they'd actually bother to learn her name.
Even her own husband treated her like a possession, a car to be traded in when a new model came available. The ice within her soul has parted her with her children and left her enjoying nothing but finding new ways to increase her own sizeable bank accounts. Even sex has all but been forgotten to her. But Christmas has its own magic, and on an otherwise cold night, her heart grows warm not just by the amber liquid swirling within her crystal tumbler, but of a world that she'd never quite known and the potential for a life that she'd long ago given up the hope to attain.
