Résumé
The Humboldt Current originates in Antarctica and flows northward along the west coast of Chile, where the cold Antarctic waters meet the warm Peruvian Current, forming one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. This sea area is known for its low salinity and high nutrition, which breeds rich fish such as sardines and anchovies, and attracts seals, sea lions, penguins and other wild animals to inhabit.
At Cape Parinal in the Coquimbo region, visitors can observe the heartwarming scene of Humboldt penguins feeding their young in a cave, while on the Antofagasta coast, a group of sea lions lazily basking in the sun.
