Résumé
From Kevin Eric Paul comes a satire of toxic internet culture run amok in an America of the near future, full of purity tests, virtue signaling, bullying, and pile-ons... Anxious, unsocialized shut-in Chester Provolone has his insular world turned upside down when his mother suddenly dies. She'd kept him isolated since childhood out of fear of losing him like she lost his father - taken away by the state for a provocative social media post.
Alone and ill-prepared, the old-school liberal Chester is forced to interact with a society he doesn't understand. To help him adapt, Chester purchases a "previously enjoyed" sex robot to have someone to talk to and help him around the house, and their friendship quickly blossoms. But Chester's new life doesn't remain comfortable for long. The pair are soon forced to embark on an adventure where they'll discover the truth behind why everyone is acting so crazy online.
Along the way, Chester will find himself sparring with a clique of online bullies, engaging in high-speed chases, and attempting to infiltrate a Cancellation Camp in this sexy, spec-fic satire that challenges online culture, groupthink, and conformity. (90K words/350 pages)
