This is a story about a foreign adoption of a beautiful baby who created a family full of love. It is told and illustrated through the eyes of a child. "Catiana Makes a Family" has been welcomed in many elementary schools to help children have a better understanding of adoption. We adopted our daughter from Medellin, Colombia, South America when she was five months old. As a young child, she knew the terminology associated with adoption because we wanted her to know her background and the truth.
Catiana was disappointed when we would go to a book store and she couldn't find an account of her adoption. I decided to write her story and illustrate it through the eyes of a child, since she had a lot of input to this book. I hope you enjoy our story.
