To serve God effectively, the saint must have a healthy and pure mind toward God and man, as well as the ability to cast down vain thoughts that enter the mind. The saints must have a basic understanding of the plethora of vain things that Satan wages in their minds, which must be cast down. Every day, each of us has hundreds, if not millions, of thoughts that may be categorized as objectives, plans, questions, ideas, conclusions, and analyses of the current situation.
A barrage of thoughts and feelings is raining down on us like raindrops. True, but many of those arrows are false.
