Résumé

Twenty years ago, three small children were pulled from a life raft off the coast of Maine. Elle Whittemore was one of those children. Now, as a single mother, she's built a quiet life in Briar Bay, no thanks to her child's father, who took off before she had the chance to tell him she was pregnant. There's one question she's never been able to stop asking: Who is she, really? When she gets a mysterious text from the town's harbormaster-someone she always suspected knew more than he'd said-she rushes to meet him.
By the time she arrives, he's dead-and the killer is still in the building. Quinn Prescott walked away from Elle three years ago without a word, and he's regretted it every day since. His undercover assignment cost him his friends, his family, and nearly his life. He's come home to Briar Bay to heal from his wounds and win back Elle's heart. When she plunges into a high-stakes web of deceit and murder, he'll risk everything to protect her.
Thrown together by a conspiracy two decades in the making, Elle and Quinn race to unravel the mystery of her origins before a killer buries the truth, and them, for good. But the closer they get-to answers and to each other-the harder it is to outrun the past, and the secrets they're both still keeping. From a USA Today bestselling author. Don't miss the heart-pounding first book in the Children of the Sea series, where a long-buried mystery, a secret baby, and a second chance at love collide on the rocky coast of Maine.
Aside from her family and her Savior, Robin Patchen has two loves-writing and traveling. If she could combine them, she'd spend a lot of time sitting in front of her laptop at sidewalk cafes and ski lodges and beachside burger joints. She'd visit every place in the entire world-twice, if possible-and craft stories and tell people about her Savior. Alas, time is too short and money is too scarce for Patchen to traipse all over the globe, even if her husband and kids wanted to go with her.
So she stays in Oklahoma, shares the Good News when she can, and writes to illustrate the unending grace of God through the power and magic of story.
