Résumé

Carolyn has given up on men and now cares only about finding health care for her ailing mother. People in the town try with their home remedies but they don't work. Carolyn then reluctantly gets the assistance of Hank Wise, a shamed doctor who has returned to the town after suffering a scandal. Hank is a recovering alcoholic following his tenure in the Civil War and is now determined to put his past behind him.
Carolyn notices that Hank is one of the kindest man she has ever met and his practice begins to slowly grow as the town begins to trust him. Hank begins nursing Carolyn's mother back to health...but can he also win Carolyn's heart?
