Résumé

Chen lives a life of drudgery in London with her mother and dreams of life with more freedom. She gets her wish when she becomes a cook on a pirateer ship. What she finds is treachery at every turn, the challenge of learning about life on a pirate ship, and learning to cook and defend herself, fast. But, if she can get her hands on Captain Flint's treasure, her worries would be over. This story is based on some characters created by Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island.
In his book, it refers to Captain Flint and his crew having sailed the seas, but we never know the story. I've created that backstory, as well as added Chen, a woman who becomes a pirate. She's based on an amalgam of the real pirate women that sailed the seas for freedom and treasure. Sail on with fierce women pirates!
