As far as apocalypse scenarios go, this wasn't so bad. It has been 40 years since the world ended. The few remaining survivors have no knowledge of what happened in the final years of the war leading up the apocalypse. People have since learned to live in relative comfort in small isolated communities. Ramsey grew up this way, every day working the land and utilizing whatever former technology that can be scavenged from the empty cities.
Until Ramsey begins to have strange reoccurring dreams of a world very different from what he knows. This other world was never destroyed by war. Ramsey finds himself living in a big city, attending university and spending time with friends that he's never met outside of his dreams. Something about the dreams feels too real to ignore. Is that how the world should be, or is something else going on? As Ramsey explores both worlds, he learns that there are secrets and systems that he never considered, and the lines of his reality become blurry.
