Résumé
I reached the bottom of the stairs as he came through the door. It wasn't until he went through the foyer and into the living room that Alex and I came face to face. It felt like I was eighteen again. My pulse raised, and butterflies fluttered in my stomach at the sight of him. He looked more handsome than I remembered. He looked even sexier than I imagined. The image of him that flashed through my mind whenever I thought of him didn't do him justice. I wanted to run to him, to hug him and tell him how much I missed him, but I couldn't.
He might have forgotten about me already. Alex's mouth fell while his blue eyes widened as he recognized me. "Scarlett?" I lifted a hand and gave a reluctant wave. "Hi, Alex." He closed the distance between us in quick strides. My heart almost jumped out of my chest when he wrapped his arms around me and spun me around. A giggle escaped my lips, but that died down instantly when he stopped and held me tight.
