Blood of the Seven Dragons

Kaelen is a pariah, living a solitary life in the cursed Cinderwood, marked by a strange power in his blood. His isolation ends when a dying messenger entrusts him with a mysterious book bound in dragon-scale, just as a prophecy of fire and rebirth begins. Burdened with this new purpose, he journeys south and finds uneasy allies in a merchant caravan led by the capable Brynn. Together, they discover the land is afflicted by more than just war; a creeping madness, marked by a broken-spiral sigil, is taking hold, turning common folk into fanatics of an entity called the Veil.
Their search for sanctuary leads them to the pristine city of Ambercross, which they soon realize is a gilded cage. The city has already fallen, its people placidly controlled by the charismatic Lord-Magistrate Seraphin. Trapped and hunted, Kaelen learns the horrifying truth: the Veil's power is spread through the city's water, and his own cursed lineage is the key Seraphin needs to use the book's magic to erase free will from the world.
In a final, desperate confrontation, Kaelen makes an impossible choice, sacrificing himself to unleash the book's pure, untamed magic and cleanse the city, becoming the one hope for a world on the brink of eternal silence.
