Blood Chamber

FBI Special Agent Dr. Kate Thorne is called upon to unravel a horrifying discovery inside the East Kiva at Aztec Ruins National Monument in New Mexico.  Inside is a meticulously recreated ritual chamber and eleven victims of human sacrifice. Kate turns to renowned archaeologists and a respected authority on Chaco Canyon. Her trusted advisers guide her through the history of the ancient Southwest and the influence of Mesoamerican cultures.
She also consults with Pueblo, Hopi, and Diné elders whose oral traditions reject sensational conclusions. Kate's instincts and training tell her the killers are driven by belief, convinced that humanity has abandoned its sacred obligations and that only renewed blood sacrifice can restore the cosmic balance, which governs life itself. Saber, Kate's beloved dog, accompanies her throughout the investigation and uncovers a concealed chamber with evidence hidden within the East Kiva.
Kate realizes who the killers are. Before federal agents can arrest them, Albuquerque police execute a search warrant at their home. Hidden in the basement is an exact duplicate of the BLOOD CHAMBER.
