Résumé

Ellie Voss has spent her whole life on the south side of the Calloway Bridge - the daughter of Dominic Voss, the most dangerous man in Redmoor. John Morrow has spent his on the north side - the son of Katherine Morrow, the most calculating woman in the city. Their families have been at war for twenty-five years, the conflict so deeply embedded in the city's bones that it has become geography: two territories, one bridge, and a line neither side crosses.
Then their parents arrange a meeting. One table. Two heirs. A negotiation that is supposed to be professional and brief. It is neither. What begins as a cautious diplomatic exchange becomes something neither Ellie nor John has language for - something that grows in wine bars and on rooftops and in the specific silence between two people who have stopped pretending they don't notice each other. Something that is complicated by the war, by the families, by the twenty-five-year history that neither of them fully understands.
And by the thing in the east end of the city. The old thing. The one that has been watching love stories across the Calloway line for generations, waiting for one that doesn't end in ruin. Blood & Ruin is a story about two people who were handed a war and chose to build something else instead. It is dark and explicit and relentlessly honest about the cost of love in a world where everything has a price.
It is also, underneath all of it, a love story - the specific, irreplaceable kind that arrives like weather, without warning, and changes everything.
