Résumé

Bear Itaxsca is a Native America gunfighter of the old West. A Crow warrior, son of a chief. He fought in the Civil War on the Union side. At the end of the war, he becomes a bounty hunter. Bear is very good with weapons, especially two cap and ball .36 caliber Colts. He carries them like Wild Bill Hickock, in a sash around his waist. Bear encounters two wanted men in a gunfight. He kills them and transports the bodies to Durango, Colorado, to collect the bounty.
There he learns of a desperado named Apache Joe and resolves to bring him to justice. Bear prevails in this endeavor, but not quite how you would expect. It is a tale about the wicked prejudice of the times between Natives and Whites, and how Bear handles the problem.
