Résumé

Are We All Right? details a number of things that are wrong in our society in America and how we need to make changes to fix the problems.  The lyrics point up problems with crime, junkies, gangs, homelessness, bank fraud, insurance rates, oil spills, forest destruction, and global warming that have been getting worse over the last few decades. The song and this book are a kind of rallying cry or call to action about the many problems we need to fix today.  As the song describes, it's important to act quickly.
We literally have to change the game. We need new rules, since otherwise we seem to be heading to a certain disaster. This song is like an anthem to call attention to the problems we face, so we can do something to fix them before it's too late. For example, the first verse begins:                        We've got crime in the streets.                        We've got junkies down the hall.                        We've got homeless in the doorways,                        Panhandlers on the mall.
And the chorus starts this way:                        But we're all right.                        We're all right.                        Yeah, that's what they tell us.                        Now we're all right.            I hope this song and book will help you see that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Thus, we have to be proactive in seeking change, from making changes in your own life to reaching out to others in power to ask them to work for change.             Let this song and book serve as a battle cry to make a positive difference now.
