Résumé

Sadie's worst nightmare has just come true. She has to work on a school project with Teague, the guy she used to be friends with, but who's now too popular to say hi to her in the halls. In other words, the guy she hates. On top of that, her uncle and his boyfriend just broke up, and given that the two of them raised her, she's torn on how to handle it. She's not sure why, but she feels like she needs to pick a side and keep her relationship with her uncle's ex a secret.
Working at her uncle's Laser Tag and Arcade is a good distraction for her, that is until Teague comes in for his sister's birthday party. But it seems that he's the one taking care of everything instead of his parents, who aren't anywhere in sight. She suspects that he's dealing with something at home too, but feels strange asking him about it. After all, they're not even friends anymore, right? But it turns out spending time with Teague for their project isn't as bad as she thought it would be, and seems to prove that maybe he doesn't deserve the hate she's been feeling towards him.
That maybe she's just been hating someone from the past. And that just maybe, they have more in common than she thought.
