If the worst parts of ourselves became monsters, could we become heroes? The Void, a constantly shifting world formed by humanity's emotions that lies parallel to our own. Within this unreal landscape powerful negative emotions form monsters which only desire to bring suffering to their creators. When they finally infiltrate our world it is the job of the Slayers to pursue them back into the darkness and destroy them.
When a pursuit goes spectacularly wrong, Vik, a senior member of the Slayers, finds himself trapped in this nightmarish reality. The only living person who knows of a new threat lurking just below the surface. In order to survive and return home, Vik must forge an uneasy alliance with one of the very creatures he swore to destroy.
