2048. The first interstellar spacecraft built by humans leaves our planet to explore a distant solar system. No sooner has it arrived than disaster strikes. Only a small shuttle damaged by the explosion can make the return journey to Earth. It succeeds, but the survivors find themselves in an unknown region and, more importantly, around 35, 000 years before their departure from space.
