An Amish woman named Rebecca gives birth to the Bontrager's first grandchild, Jacob. However, Catherine, a lonely and superstitious teenage neighbor whose premature baby girl was stillborn, believes Jacob was sent to replace her own baby and she kidnaps him. After the community goes frantic, Grandma Bontrager accidentally finds the baby with Catherine. Now it is up to Grandma Bontrager to gently explain to Catherine that someday Catherine will have another baby, but that Jacob is really Rebecca's.
