Résumé

Thirteen colonies which are now a part of United States ofAmerica were initially colonies of Great Britain. People werediscontented with the British rule and rebels evoked among thecolonies. People were getting exhausted of the horrendous taxesthat were imposed on them. In 1746, the Revenue Act made itobligatory for the King to tax the thirteen colonies whether theyliked it or not which eventually led to a war.
The localpractices, social and religious customs of the Americans wereswerving ominously from the English ways and added to thebudding causes of conflicts. Mercantilism and Navigation Actswere policies favoured by the British in order to control tradein British interest; however these were loosely enforced allowingcolonies to grow spontaneously with negligible intrusion from theBritish. The Treaty of Paris officially documented the new nation in1783 with many questions still unanswered.
United Statedsplashed through a post war depression only to confrontadministrative problems under the Articles of Confederation. The new leaders of the country were people who were visibleon the Revolution fields or council halls and the country's firstthree Presidents were George Washington, John Adams andThomas Jefferson. The more radical leaders of the Revolutionwere unhappy with the turn towards obscurantism once thewar was over, but democracy and liberty had now beensecured as the utmost ideals of the free nation.
The Revolution had an inordinate impact on liberal beliefs allover Europe. The scuffles and achievements of the youngdemocracy were much in the thoughts of those who broughtabout the French Revolution, and most definitely later helped tostimulate revolutionists in Spain's American colonies.
