Résumé

Award-winning crime writers J. M. Redmann and Rob Byrnes bring together their iconic characters-hard-boiled PI Micky Knight and charming con artists Grant Lambert and Chase LaMarca-in a fast-paced crossover that's both grit and grift. Private investigator Micky Knight tries to keep things mostly legal. But that line gets blurry when she crosses paths with Grant and Chase in a swanky French Quarter bar, and on the other side of her barstool two feuding anti-LGBTQ crusaders are trying to work together.
They happen to be carrying a large amount of gold that Grant and Chase would like to relieve them of. Micky doesn't like to break the law, but sometimes the cause is just, right? After all, what could go wrong? Actually, can anything go right?
J. M. Redmann is the author of a mystery series featuring New Orleans private detective Michele 'Micky' Knight. Her latest book is ILL WILL, which made the American Library Association GLBT Roundtable's 2013 Over the Rainbow list. Her previous book WATER MARK was also on the Over the Rainbow list and won a Fore Word Gold First Place mystery award. Two of her earlier books, THE INTERSECTION OF LAW & DESIRE and DEATH OF A DAYING MAN have won Lambda Literary Awards; all but her first book have been nominated.
LAW & DESIRE was an Editor's Choice of the San Francisco Chronicle and a recommended book on NPR's Fresh Air. Her books have been translated into Spanish, German, Dutch, Norwegian and Hebrew. She is the co-editor with Greg Herren of three anthologies, NIGHT SHADOWS: QUEER HORROR, WOMEN OF THE MEAN STREETS: LESBIAN NOIR, and MEN OF THE MEAN STREETS: GAY NOIR. Redmann lives in an historic neighborhood in New Orleans, at the edge of the area that flooded. Rob Byrnes is the author of four novels, including the 2006 Lambda Literary Award-winning When the Stars Come Out and 2009 Lammy finalist Straight Lies.
His short stories have also appeared in several anthologies, including Fool for Love (2009), Saints & Sinners 2010: New Fiction from the Festival (2010), and Men of the Mean Streets (2011). A native of Upstate New York, Byrnes was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from Union College in Schenectady before moving to Manhattan. He now resides in West New York, New Jersey, with his partner, Brady Allen.
