How many ghosts does it take to screw up a séance? Laney loves working at the local bookstore. Not just for the spending money, but because she has access to all the enchanted tomes! The fact that she occasionally casts a spell with humiliating consequences (roadkill isn't supposed to follow her to school), motivates her to search for any spellbook that will help control her burgeoning necromancy magic.
At a high school party with her werewolf friend Kody, Laney gets herself in over her head when she volunteers to lead a seance to contact a classmate's recently deceased grandfather. Something that she's never done before. But she just read a book about speaking with the dead so what could go wrong?Laney finds that contacting the dead was the easy part. Controlling the ethereal intruders is a whole other problem.
