A Reason to Stay

She came to Texas looking for a husband and a home. Instead, she found a family still living in the shadow of loss. Leaving Pennsylvania behind, a hopeful young woman travels west to marry a widowed Baptist preacher and become a mother to his four-year-old son and daughter. But her new husband is consumed by church duties, and the children-still precious reminders of the wife he lost in childbirth-are allowed to do almost anything they please.
Day after day, she struggles alone to hold the household together while her husband refuses to discipline his children or see how unhappy his new bride has become. Finally, believing she has made a terrible mistake, she decides to pack her belongings and return to Pennsylvania. Then she discovers she is carrying his child. Now she must choose between leaving the life that has broken her heart and staying long enough to discover whether love, faith, and a growing family can give her A REASON TO STAY
