Résumé

Pride and Prejudice meets A Cinderella Story in this delightful mashup of two timeless tales. According to her stepmother, Elizabeth Bennet is ungrateful, selfish, and not very pretty. Lizzy spends her days waiting on her stepmother and spoiled stepsisters, working at her family's café (or what's left of it), and battling wits with the popular crowd-especially the aloof Will Darcy. Her only sources of relief are her best friend and her mystery pen pal, the brooding but thoughtful Closet Poet.
They finally meet in person at the homecoming masquerade, but she has to run before they can reveal their true identities. With the haze of their romantic evening gone, both she and Closet Poet face self-doubt, each fearing disappointing the other. It doesn't help that Lizzy is forced to spend time with Will-because maybe he isn't as bad as she thought. In fact, this Will is charming enough to make her fall for him.
And that's a problem, because she's already given her heart to Closet Poet. Will Darcy just wants to write, a fact he has yet to confess to his father, or anyone else, but with which his pen pal, Lit Fairy, is well acquainted. When he meets her in person, it doesn't take him long to realize she's none other than Lizzy Bennet, the girl with whom he's usually butting heads. There's just one hiccup: Lizzy doesn't like him.
Resolved to show her he's not the jerk she thinks he is, he sets out to befriend her-and prove he and Closet Poet are one and the same. But not everyone wants them to live happily ever after, and Will has his work cut out for him. Can their fragile new friendship stand up against scheming stepsisters, vindictive mean girls, and their own fears?Life may not be a fairytale, but Will and Lizzy can still fight to make their dreams come true-it'll just take a little courage, and maybe a little wit.
