Résumé
On the first day of Christmas, the Ministry authorized a miracle. The partridges staged a walkout. Recently divorced and allergic to holiday cheer, Nell Thistledown returns home to find her family orchard commandeered by the Ministry's new "Official Partridge Sanctuary".and inconveniently placed under the command of her ex-husband. Nell expects awkward small talk. What she gets is a full-scale avian labor uprising.
The partridges have unionized. They've taken the pear trees hostage. They're demanding hazard pay, better nesting conditions, and unrestricted access to the orchard bakery. Now Nell has twelve days to broker peace between humans and increasingly militant birds, survive her ex's infuriating competence, and prevent the Ministry from declaring her orchard a festive disaster zone. But as negotiations turn chaotic-and her ex keeps showing up exactly when she needs him-Nell realizes that saving Christmas might mean risking her heart.and that this pear-shaped miracle might be her second chance at love.
