Résumé

A single round in a cold .357 is all it would take to end the pain. Why do so many veterans choose suicide? A patriot who joined the U. S. Army directly out of high school, he served in several countries and was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. When he became injured and could no longer serve in the infantry, he returned home. The construction company he started took a downturn in 2010 as did his health. Ryan turned toward education, finishing a bachelors, masters, and doctorate program with a focus on helping prevent suicide by focusing on the root causes for active military and veterans. One question drove him. Why is the adjustment to civilian life so hard? He knows what it is to hide behind a facade of "everything is alright, " while knowing that deep down he was in trouble. In this book you'll read his story and learn:  Is the mental conditioning from military life a root cause? Are other medical diagnoses or disorders contributing factors to suicidality? Is combat or the number of tours partly to blame? Do conventional suicide prevention methods work?  Some of what he uncovered will make you furious, but it's important to understand all that is going on to find a path out of the darkness. You'll deeply appreciate this book, because the road to recovery leads to a better life for you and your family. Are you ready to begin?
