A Marine's Daughter is a novel depicting the struggles of a Marine in his later years trying to deal with the issues from the past. The character Jon Milo lost his wife very early in his life and focused on raising their daughter Sara. Jon has several unanswered questions about his time in Viet Nam and his daughter now a successful attorney has been recruited by some of her Dad's fellow Marines to seek recognition for the old Sergeant they believe he deserves.
The story is about the relationship between father and daughter and how they work together to find the answers they both seek not only about the past but about the future as well. The story reveals the value of the father-daughter relationship and that the strength of that relationship can be healing as well as fulfilling. About the AuthorAl Hague served as a Marine NCO in Viet Nam during the years 1965/1966.
Al enjoyed a career in business in multiple leadership positions and for the past ten years has been a freelance photojournalist for various national magazines. Al resides in the Phoenix AZ area with his wife Diane and service dog Brady. Al raised two daughters who are grown and have been an inspiration to him. Al is one of the thousands of Vets that suffer from various effects of agent orange and is currently 100% disabled.
The purpose of the book is to help readers understand the plight of the aging Viet Nam Veterans and the challenges of dealing with issues from their past. Al is an avid Patriots football fan and enjoys playing golf when able. Future books will include a sequel to A Marine's Daughter and a series of children's books.
