2-4 Cavalry Book 1: A New Hope. 2-4 Cavalry, #1

With gracious permission from David Drake, this marks the beginning of the 2-4 Cavalry series, which I started while deployed to Afghanistan and was allowed to write about due to my military service. This book is about a new unit, called "2-4 Cavalry, " and is an aircar (used in parlance by David Drake) unit that is deployed to the planet of New Hope, a Brazilian-owned planet, to suppress or destroy the El Cator gang.
Through various scenarios, the unit counters the movement and demonstrates that the concept, although not as well-liked in some circles, is an effective unit, even if it employs a more low-tech approach (utilizing no combat cars, blowers, or other armored vehicles) to combat the gang. Counterinsurgency is a concept that is used throughout the book, reflecting my experience from my previous deployment to Afghanistan.
Led by Lt. Karen Juniper, the unit fights hard and well in this book.
