Frankie Howerd was a very unique and popular English comedian in the 20th Century. He started out on radio and stage, before performing on television and film. His comedy style included interaction with the audience and risque - but not rude - monologues. He went in and out of fashion during his career with his persona and comic style coming back into fashion several times, such as in the early sixties and the early nineties.
