This book presents the mystery, wonder, and emptiness that is Zen. It uses the poetry of one of the most eccentric Zen masters, Ikkyu, to show the ways and methods a Zen master uses to permanently transform, rather than simply inform. Ikkyu's entire message is about how to experience the essence of emptiness: that blissful state of mindlessness in which all old conditioning disappears and man is free to simply be himself.
