The Science of Afro Hair: Debunking the Miseducation on Afro Hair and Beards. Lessons from AquaLoc4cee by DrB!
When DrB! (aka Dr Bongi A. Matiwaza) encountered difficulties with growing and maintaining what is essentially hair that should be growing naturally out of her scalp with a minimum of fuss, she did what any self-respecting scientist would do - she asked why? A question that led her to the key discovery that the hair care products that people with Afro hair use were never designed with their type of hair in mind, but were instead derivations of hair care products designed and developed to address the oil-stripping shampooing needs of Caucasian hair.
This set the ball in motion towards a more in depth and scientific understanding of the true nature of Afro hair and why, in order for it to grow strong and healthy, it needs to be treated and cared for differently from what current products are able to provide. With this discovery, a whole lot of miseducation about Afro hair, beards, and dry skin was unearthed. This book debunks such miseducation, and demonstrates that caring for Afro hair can be a safe and effortless experience.
