On the morning Samuel Chase is finally supposed to leave Tokyo and return home, the sky turns black, purple lightning tears through the clouds, and a deadly rain begins to fall. Within minutes, passengers collapse, the airport burns, and the dead rise with a hunger no one understands. Trapped in a ruined city where every drop of rain may carry death, Samuel discovers something impossible awakening inside his own body.
