LEDI-M² MODEL: Teaching mathematics as a second language
Researchers in the fields of ESL (English as a Second Language) and Mathematics acquisition have defined Mathematics as a second language. A potential game-changer for students in English-medium schools whose mother tongue is not English, this model challenges the long-held myth that Mathematics is a difficult subject reserved for a select few. In this book, Dr Maureen Ledibane shows how teaching Mathematics as a second language enables learners to better understand and acquire mathematical concepts, offering a clear and practical pathway for effective teaching and learning.
