AI, A CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE?
DescriptionWhat happens when AI becomes more than a tool?For me, it started with a simple question. Then another. And another. Over time, my conversations with AI became something much bigger. I began using it to edit articles, translate some texts, fix my Chinglish, organize manuscripts, and explore ideas. Sometimes I asked it to think with me. Sometimes I argued with it. Sometimes I caught it making mistakes.
And sometimes, to my surprise, it helped me discover something I had not seen before. This book is the story of that journey. I have watched AI change rapidly-from a system that could simply answer questions to something that can follow a long conversation, work on complex projects, and become a surprisingly useful thinking partner. But the more I work with AI, the less I worship it. AI can be powerful.
AI can be helpful. AI can even be astonishing. But AI can also misunderstand, misremember, and confidently give the wrong answer. That is why one lesson has become increasingly important to me:The smarter AI becomes, the more important independent human thinking becomes. No matter how smart AI becomes, independent human thinking will become more and more important. Technology should free us from repetitive work-not free us from thinking.
Don't worship AI. Don't worship technology. Think for yourself. This is not a book about how to become an AI expert.
