Alecia Kennedy

Growing up in a small town in the Bible belt, Alecia lives with the long shadow of God and Hell looming over every facet of her life. As she begins to explore her own thoughts and fears about religion and meets others with different ideas, the divide between what she was taught and what she knows to be true expands until it becomes unbearable. Through a series of short stories, Alecia remembers the key moments of her spiritual awakening and explores how the tendrils of misogyny, racism, and homophobia intertwine with religion in small-town America.
