#18 Hiding in the Madam's penthouse
Someone or some group is out to remove Detective Rage from the playing field permanently. Several earlier attempts were cheap shots because that is what they could afford. But the last one was an expensive attempt to bring down an FBI jet with her in it. Detective Rage and Sergeant Jones find a bomb under her jeep in the police garage. That had the Inspector Strong sending her and Sergeant Jones away, far away.
Searching through about 100 cases Detective Rage had worked on only adds to the problem. Some are obvious where the money involved is large. A few not on the top of the list could be considered more personal in nature. You can send Detective Rage and Sergeant Jones out of town, place unknown, but they will continue to work the case. But they have chosen a hiding place which might be considered jumping from the pan right into the fire without knowing what you did.
The place chosen might be considered the Folsom State prison of Johnny Cash fame. How will they fair when their every move is known before they make it.
