OLD TESTAMENT HISTORICAL BOOKS - Conquest To Return
A companion guide for reading the Old Testament Historical Books. The Historical Books comprise twelve books of the Old Testament that chronicle Israel's history from the conquest of Canaan under Joshua (c. 1406 BC) through the post-exilic period of restoration (c. 430 BC). From a conservative, Bible-believing perspective, these are divinely inspired records of God's faithfulness, Israel's covenant life, and the outworking of God's promises through real people in real time. These books document approximately one thousand years of Israel's national experience, including the establishment of the monarchy, the division of the kingdom, the exile to Babylon, and the eventual return to the land.
