The only other people, besides the middle-aged female bartender, were an older male club member sitting in a booth with a striking woman more than half his age. The couple was dressed for golf and looked like they had just finished a round. The older man rested his arm, thick with black hair, along the back of the booth, behind the young lady. It looked like he was talking to her with some intensity.
But the moment Mark came through the door, her attention shifted to him, and Ricky imagined her eyes dilating with interest. Mark had noticed her too, and their eyes locked for a long moment. Her gaze followed Mark as he joined his friend at the bar, and after pouring his drink, the bartender returned to chopping limes. When she was out of range, he turned to Ricky and asked, "To what do I owe this unusual pleasure?"Ricky took a long drink from his bottle of beer before replying, "I thought we'd talk about baseball, or some other stuff, before getting to what's important.""Ordinarily, I'd enjoy doing just that, but I have a date tonight, and I'm sure you understand that my time is limited."Ricky watched the older club member talking even more intently into the younger woman's ear, as she smiled thinly and occasionally nodded.
But when she wasn't looking down at the table, she was eyeing Mark."You're being checked out from the other table, " Ricky said, picking at the label on his beer bottle."I know, do you think I should do her?" Mark remarked as he looked back at her and clearly enunciated each word."Sure, do you want me to trip old Henry?""Won't be necessary, but thank you. Now, what's on your mind?""I'm probably an idiot, " Ricky began."No doubt.""Candy and I have talked about.I'm not sure how to put this, so I'll just blurt it out.
We've talked about my Candy becoming a hotwife." Ricky tossed back the remainder of his beer, his heart pounding in his ears. Mark swiveled on his stool to stare at his friend, now completely focused and interested. "That must have been some conversation."In the booth, the young woman was squirming in her seat, still looking toward Mark as Ricky answered, "It certainly was, and my job is to find the right man for a one-time hook-up."Mark's stare hadn't left his friend, who had returned to picking the label off his bottle.
"And, you thought of me? I'm deeply honored. What do you have in mind?""I thought you might stop by sometime this coming weekend to have a drink with us, then maybe something can be arranged from there." Ricky sounded nervous even to himself."What else are you thinking, buddy?""If this were to happen, we would agree that it was a one-time thing, just sex without emotion." Ricky turned to meet Mark's eyes, "And, I'd get to watch.""The last thing is fine with me.
You know, if it goes that far and your wife agrees. The rest is fine, too. When would you like me to 'stop by?'"Ricky swallowed hard before saying, "How about Friday after work?"Mark held out his hand, and as they shook, he said, "See you then."Without another word, Mark slipped off his stool and walked out the door. Ricky was amused when the young woman pushed past the older man, ignored his repeated questions, and jogged out the door to catch up with Mark.
