Vanessa Cardoso Whelan

Vanessa has performed on stage and in street productions as an actress, clown, Flamenco dancer, puppeteer, and fire-flow dancer. Vanessa grew up witnessing gender-based violence and wanted to write a play that could bring awareness to the issue. The idea was for survivors to be heard and supported to be able to ask for help. Vanessa heard from more than twenty women survivors who trusted her with their experiences.
In the last scene, there are real testimonials from survivors of gender-based violence.
