Awakening to Wisdom - Lives of Creative Genius and Enlightenment

Throughout history, the phenomenon of creative genius has been a deep mystery which has consistently defied a conclusive explanation. Gopi Krishna (1903-1984), the noted authority on Kundalini, proposed that creative genius is only one manifestation of a psycho-physiological mechanism in the human body which is also responsible for mystical experience and enlightenment. The fifteen essays in this book document the evidence of this mechanism in the lives of some of the most amazing, inspired, creative geniuses from the 12th century to the present.
Gopi Krishna proposed that this biological process, known in India as Kundalini, is guiding all of mankind towards the next step in human evolution - the faculty of enlightened consciousness. Although the name Kundalini, and detailed knowledge of the workings of the mechanism, originated in the spiritual tradition of ancient India, there is considerable evidence to indicate that knowledge of the mechanism existed in other cultures including ancient Egypt.
The goal of these essays is to demonstrate the existence of the psycho-physiological mechanism, and to show that it is evolutionary in nature, and is operative in all of humanity.
