Dr. Claude Cook has spent a decade using genetics to heal the sick. But cure after cure has left him restless  -- like there's something out there more fulfilling for him than his current position. When a transfer opens at Breed Island, the government's most secretive genetic lab, Claude sees his chance to make a real difference. to have a part in helping to protect the innocent from those who would use their influence/power to dominate those who can't protect themselves.
But paradise fades fast. Beyond the tropical shoreline, Breed Island hides horrors in sealed corridors - experiments that twist humans and animals into weapons , all in the name of national security. What Claude first believed was noble research quickly reveals a darker truth: not everyone here volunteered. and not everyone survives. When a demonstration forces him to witness a "test subject" being torn apart by regenerating mutant creatures - while the staff laughs - Claude knows he's made a terrible mistake.
And when he tries to escape, even his closest friend turns a tranquilizer gun on him. Now, having become a super weapon against his will and trapped on the island, surrounded by hybrid monsters, and scientists who believe that their extreme patriotism is righteous, Claude faces a brutal reality:He came here to save lives. But discovers where the lab's idea of securing America crosses the line. Escape isn't a goal.
