Terms of Endearment the, book was conceived while on a gospel Mission trip to Maseru, Lesotho on the 14th of February 2006. This book is a love story. Or a collection of love stories. It is a simple but frank discourse on the labor of love as I have known it over the past thirty years. Snippets of my own story interrupt the conversation along the way but much of my learning that I attempt to share here has developed out of a keen observation of other people's journeys.
Almost all the stories in this book are true. We have altered names to respect privacy and in some cases renamed places to protect the identity of the characters involved. Each anecdote has been carefully edited and shared for the sole purpose of emphasizing a point in the narrative. Never to humiliate or express vindictiveness. The entire book is nothing but a conversation about learning how to relate at different levels.
But especially on the family front. Conscious of my own limitations, I have written this book with humility and tried to be as sensitive and compassionate as possible to those who may share a similar set of circumstances. Every mistake you encounter herein is entirely my own. The book has 45 short chapters divided into ten sections. Each section expresses a subject designated by a letter in the book title.
In essence the correct title is Terms of E. N. D. E. A. R. M. E. N. T and thefollowing are the section headlines:Empathy, Nurture, Demonstration, Emotions, Acceptance, Relatableness, Maturity, Endurance, Nobility and Trust.respectively.
