Gavin is a bear, a masseur, and a manedresser who's spent years giving excellent care to any and all. He's especially beloved among his "vertically gifted" clients, including Emmanuel, a client turned friend over time, who needs even more particular attention. After all, the tall Pegasus's hide, mane, tail, and wings demand special care to keep up the unique appearance that makes him such a fine model for artists, photographers, and advertisers.
So when Emmanuel reveals that his agent wants the wings gone, cut off, for the sake of being more "bankable, " Gavin is wholly thunderstruck. Horrified, Gavin tries to help his friend, giving Emmanuel somewhere to breathe and consider things before he makes a decision. The bear has some property, a quiet ranch outside the city. There, away from agents and cameras, Gavin seeks to help Emmanuel reconnect to himself, his heart, his nature, everything that makes him a Pegasus and not just a product.
To remind him what he's worth exactly as he is - wings very much included. It's what you do for one you love. Even when that love is secret.
