The Leaf Queen’s Blood: A Prince Cursed by His Blood and the Fire That Could Destroy All He Loves
Second Edition Before the world learned to hate its own roots, it was whole. In Aethralis, humans, beasts, and verdant spirits once shared the same breath-until the day the forest bled. When the Leaf Queen fell to the Warlock's iron blade, her crimson blood seeped into the soil, and something ancient awoke beneath it. From that wound, a curse took root-a whisper that life can only grow by consuming life.
Auren Valen was only seven when he saw his mother die. Her blood stained his hands, and the roots drank from it as if the forest itself were mourning. Her final breath-half lullaby, half curse-anchored itself inside his chest. Since that day, the boy born of two worlds, half human and half verdan, has carried a heart that beats not only for himself but for the living earth. The forest became both cradle and cage.
The trees whispered his name in the rain, and the soil remembered every tear he shed. Each time he used his Verdancy to protect, vines burst from his skin, devouring flesh before blooming into flowers of blood. To the Verdan elders, he is sacred. To humankind, he is proof that nature's love is monstrous. Beyond the green silence lies Ironvale-a city of gears and smoke where humans forge gods out of machines.
There, the War of Consumption rages on, fueled by those who believe nature must be conquered, not understood. Caught between them, Auren must decide what he is meant to become: savior or monster, bridge or blade. But the forest has not forgotten the prophecy whispered at his birth:"When the leaf weeps crimson beneath a sunless dawn, The Queen's heart shall fall, and roots will thirst for her song."As the first red bloom rises from his own blood, the world begins to tremble.
Auren will soon learn that mercy and destruction share the same soil-and that love, like the forest, can kill and heal in the same breath. The Leaf Queen's Blood begins the epic Verdant-Frost Saga: the story of a prince cursed by his mother's dying gift, a boy who must choose whether to devour the world that made him-or let it bloom again from the ashes of love and loss. In the heart of every forest, love and ruin share the same breath.
And in the blood of one cursed child, the world remembers how to grow again.
