PassageWays: Everyday Adventures Into the Paranormal

In PassageWays: Everyday Adventures into the Paranormal, Bette Freedson explores the fascinating and expansive realm of paranormal experiences, and the ways they have coincided with, and guided, her unique professional journey. With personal stories like her recurring dream of the old house, the author invites readers to explore and accept their own intuitive gifts, while discovering the innovative ways that applying psychic abilities can enhance the quality of life.
Haverhill, Massachusetts, c. 1950-1960I see myself in front of an old house, a classic-style farmhouse with two chimneys and a front entrance with symmetrical side windows, two on each side. Situated on a gently sloping, grassy hill with a graceful weeping willow tree in front, the house is a mystery. There don't seem to be any inhabitants, yet I sense that this house is friendly and that I am welcome.
I look forward to my dream visits during which the house appears to know me, to beckon to me, inviting me to sit on the bench in front. Strangely, I have come to love this house. Clairsentience, Clear KnowingKnowing how life has evolved, I can, with reasonable certainty, say that these night dreams, daydreams, and kinesthetic sensations were predictive, i.e., pre-cognitive. It is not uncommon for people to think of psychic knowing as only the ability to foretell the future, but as you will come to understand, that is not all there is to psychic ability.
The larger category of intuitive knowing, thought of as a sense of something, may be considered clairsentience. Clairsentience involves a variety of related sensory intuitive phenomena, such as clairvoyance (clear seeing), clairaudience (clear hearing), and clairtangence (clear tactile sensing) and other inner experiences that involve thoughts, ideas, emotions, somatic sensations, and mental and kinesthetic impressions.
