At some point, someone told me that I would be the safest bet of their life. Personally, I believe the opposite applies to me. I stand and stare blindness in the face, waiting for it to take a step. It has tormented my soul and body my entire life. This volume is about survival, about how verses became ropes for my tormented soul to cling to, a soul traumatized by disability. It is about inner light.
Even if the light of my eyes fades one day, a beacon will shine between my ribs, radiating warmth.
