Cézanne à Aix / Cézanne chez lui
In 2025, Cezanne takes center stage : the Jas de Bouffan and the Atelier des Lauves will reopen in mid-June, the major exhibition "Cezanne at Jas de Bouffan" will be held at the Granet Museum from June 28 to October 13, and the exhibition "Aix and Cezanne" will open at the Musée du Vieil Aix starting June 6. More than ever, Cezanne is at home in Aix-en-Provence-the city where he was born, grew up, learned the fundamentals of his art, and to which he tirelessly returned to live and create.
To walk in the footsteps of the "father of modern art, " one must explore Aix and its surroundings, and visit both the Jas de Bouffan, his center of gravity for forty years, and the Lauves studio-home, which became his final refuge.
