Tenuke is a courageous young boy who loves adventures, especially the hunting trips his father and the other men go on throughout the year. Little Tenuke has great hopes that he will go on the next hunting trip because he, too, wants to be a great warrior like his father. He learns the importance of patience and responsibility on his journey.
